My experience ordering from OCS.ca
Although there weren’t many reasons to buy from Ontario Cannabis Store, I had to give them a try. After-all we have waited for so long to be able to purchase cannabis for recreational purposes legally and currently this is the only option we’ve got! At the time of writing this post there are around 30 strains of flowers, one capsule and one type of pre-rolled joints available. Flower prices range from $8.4 to $12.5 per gram with small savings for larger product packages. Most of the flowers are listed under made-up brand names so its not easy to find information on them but some items like a strains named Dreamweaver…

My experience ordering from CheapWeed.ca
UPDATE 2019: Although our original anonymous experience last year was a positive one, they later proved themselves to be dishonest when the owner closed all affiliate accounts and stole their earned commission and leads. I won’t be buying from this place and I don’t recommend someone I can’t truest. That being said, here is the original review: This time my search for high-CBD strains has taken me to CheapWeed.ca So far I’ve found only a few dispensaries carrying decent high-CBD strains at affordable prices but the availability has been more miss than hit. At the time of writing this post even this place has ran out of stock for Charlotte’s…

Happy Bud-day Toronto!
Well, it’s far from ideal but the day is finally here! Recreational Cannabis is officially legal in Canada. Yes Ontario isn’t going to have legal physical dispensaries anytime soon, OCS’s launch selection is a joke, not to mention its high prices. Edibles and concentrates are not going to be available anytime soon and the city of Markham just passed the bylaw prohibiting smoking in the public while some condos are banning the act anywhere within/near the buildings including the balconies So for some people it may feel like nothing has changed. Yes you’re allowed to buy weed exclusively from an online store with a limited selection, insufficient and inaccurate descriptions…

The different ways to consume cannabis
For people who don’t mind the smoke, smoking is the easiest and fastest way to consume cannabis and experience the expected effects. The cannabinoids are absorbed through lungs in seconds, avoiding first pass (the phenomenon of drug metabolism during which the concentration of a drug is greatly reduced before it reaches the systemic circulation) with the effects peaking in 30-60 minutes lasting less than 3 hours. It is also the least health-conscious and the most wasteful method. Vaping/Vaporizing follows the same method of administration but without combustion which makes it just as fast-acting but without the health risks of inhaling smoke and the toxins in it. Beside being easier on…

The best way to decarboxylate cannabis using household equipment
In layman’s term Decarboxylation is the process of activating cannabis usually to get the psychoactive effects. (We have a post describing decarboxylation in more details.) In order to decarboxylate cannabis we only need to heat it to certain degree and for certain amount of time. As the baseline for my experiments I use the following chart: The obvious solution to achieve this is to use oven but here is the problem: The household ovens are not accurate and the actual temperature can vary more than 20 degrees in relation to what has been set. I learned that after a few attempts when I decided to measure things more precisely and finally…

My experience ordering from KanaPost.com
Exploring my newly discovered love for CBD and high-CBD strains I came across KanaPost.com. They had a few high-CBD strains in their menu from which 2 were in stock which thankfully were the two I was looking for with good prices. Charlotte’s Web and ACDC. (Yes I have tried them both since and I’ll write a blog post in detail but in short my CW smelled better, ACDC burned better and the effect of both were very similar although in this batch, the CW had more THC than it should have). They also had Rockstar (an indica-dominant hybrid high in THC) on sale for an unbelievable price which did sweeten…

My experience ordering from MyKush.ca
After finding a few online dispensaries that I was comfortable with I was hesitant about trying a new one. Online dispensaries mostly ship from BC which means ~$15-20 shipping charge for delivery to Toronto. To avoid that I would have to place a larger order which could mean a larger parcel full of undesirable material if the new place ends up not being good! But when I found Charlotte’s Web for a good price at MyKush.ca I had to take the risk and hope for the best. I have been wanting to try this high-CBD strain for a while and unfortunately not a lot of places carry it since it…

My experience ordering from Greenz.ca
Continuing my dispensary reviews series I took advantage of a great sale and gave Greenz.ca a try. With 6035+ flowers and 10050+ concentrates with reasonable prices there were plenty of choices. I took advantage of a coupon code giving an extra 15% off on top of already low prices of sale items and ordered two strains Nirvana (a sativa dominant hybrid) and Pink Kush (an indica dominant hybrid). Registration The registration actually happens on the last step of the check-out process during which it asks for Name, Address, Phone Number, Email address and an ID card. You could also select how you would like to pay between the good old…
